About the Studio

I teach at my home studio in South Austin, TX, located off of Menchaca Rd. and Slaughter Ln.

Through my 26 years playing piano and many years of teaching, I have learned countless different approaches to solving any problem. Each student is given an individualized experience that’s tailored to their own strengths and capabilities. Each student is different, so instruction for each student is different.

Lesson Details

Lessons are offered at 30-, 45-, and 60-minute lengths. Beginner students, particularly younger ones, may start with 30-minute lessons but are expected to move to longer 45-minute lessons within 3-6 months.

Lessons cover everything from technique and musicality to theory and history. This multifaceted approach gives students a well-rounded yet deep view of music that will stick with them long-term.

Expectations

Piano requires both flexibility and discipline. It is critical that students enjoy the process, but they must also put in consistent work to progress consistently.

Students should show up to lessons on-time and prepared. They are expected to practice at least five times per week, as this consistency ensures that new concepts and adjustments have time to solidify.
